The round dome in the ground is a water tank. There are several wells drilled in that area that supply some of our potable drinking water. Pumped up from the well, goes into a water treatment facility, then into the storage tank for distribution.
This is all drinking water...not wastewater or storm water.
I just finished week 5 of a 6 week Resident Academy Class sponsored by the CDD government. Week 2 was on utilities ...including all the stormwater management, wastewater treatment, etc. It's quite an operation.
CDD Resident Academy: 2 hours a week for 6 weeks, free, and sign up via the Customer Service #. Local CDD government, utilities, HR/Budget/Finance, Recreation/Golf, Public Safety/Fire, Community Stds/Prop Mgmt. A great follow-on to the Intro to CDD class they offer weekly, especially for those who want to learn more about how the Villages operates.
This course has nothing to do with the Developer, real estate, building houses, future plans....mainly current procedures, maintenance, operations, and governance.

Thanks 07 as usual, you're full of very useful information. I didn't know about this course, I've always been interested in the inner workings of the villages since I've been here. I'm gonna look into taking this course. Thanks for the info.
