In regards to the light issue, I have seen two solutions other then installing a floodlight on it.
One is a solar powered light that attaches to the pole just below the flag.
Another option now is they have LED flagpole tops that are hard wired with regular 110 voltage that shines right on the flag from the ball above without shining on anything else. In my opinion, for lighting this is the way to go.
There is a very nice guy that lives just south of Leesburg off of Hwy 27 in Spanish Village. He has done flagpoles over 100 ft high, down to small telescoping ones. He stocks them and installs them if you want. I forgot his name off hand, I'll try to find it...
