Have been with Comcast for four years. This month my local communications tax went from $1.97 to $4.88 on same amount of bill with no changes. Called Comcast and was told they have no control over this. Called the Dept of Revenue, and they said no change in tax rate since 2002. Found that if you are in an incorp. area which consist of five cities in Sumter (Wildwood, Busnell, and I forget the rest you are taxed at 5.72%, but if you are in an unincorp. area which they said the Villages is, you are taxed at 2.37%. Called Comcast back and they said tough, they have no control. Ended up getting info from Revenue Dept. to write letter to tax fraud dept. to have it investigated. Just a few dollars extra in bill and people might not notice. Comcast will not even discuss it. Anyone else notice a slight bill difference? Better check!
