I'm in the Sumter County area of TV and just received my postcard stating that Comcast is now Xfinity. Actually, we were leaving the house and the Xfinity truck was working near the house next door....cable utility box I'm sure. Well, on my postcard, there was reference to an Xfinity app for I devices. I have an Ipod. Downloaded the app and now have the ability to manage the three DVR's I have at my house. Since my Ipod only works in a WiFi area, this isn't as good for me as it will be for someone who has an Iphone. Still working on checking out what is available, so far, On Demand movies, free and those with a charge, and tv shows. Neat. Maybe at some time this app will be available for a smart phone, too.
Those of us who like the little teckie toys we have might be thrilled with this little app. Easy to forget to program something you really wanted to watch, but now, if you have the right device, you can schedule your DVR to record....
Kind of cool, really.
