I don't know if it was porcelain coated, but in two previous houses (not The Villages) I had a Kohler Lakefield cast iron sink which I truly miss! Never had any problems with chips or nicks. Used Bar Keepers Friend to keep it clean. The Lakefield model has a small basin for your disposal and a very large and extra deep basin for soaking and washing those big items which don't fit in my Villages sink
