There are vast differences in the grade(s) of SS sinks. We once had the cheaper style and it had a thinny sound when you dropped a set of kets in it. With the better SS sinks (such as Blanco) they are made of ticker SS and have sound deading pads on the bottom of the bowls. When you drop a set of key s (or anything) in these bowls you have a "Clunk" sound. The better sinks are definily less prone to rust spots and any discoloration.
