Default Sen. Marco Rubio fill GOP Foreign Policy Vacuum.

Our great young Senator from Florida, Marco Rubio, gave a brilliant foreign policy speech at the Jesse Helms Center in Wingate, North Carolina this past Tuesday, Sept. 13th.

Marco Rubio recalled how Jesse Helms and Ronald Reagan in 1976 forced passage of a “morality in foreign policy” plank to the Republican Party platform which declared that “The goal of Republican foreign policy is the achievement of liberty under law and a just and lasting peace in the world.” This same principle, Rubio said, should animate the Republican Party’s foreign policy today.

Sen. Rubio also went on to say: "If we refuse to play our rightful role and shrink from the world, America and the entire world will pay a terrible price. And it is our responsibility to clearly outline to the American people what our proper role in the world is and what American interests are at stake when we engage abroad."

Sen. Rubio then did just that by presenting what his vision of America’s interests, and of our country's role in foreign affairs, from Latin America to the Middle East.

I would be nice if our Republican candidate would do the same. A mere 9 minutes was devoted to foreign policy by the commentators and the candidates in the last debate.

If you want to know what you should have heard on that debate stage, take the time to listen to our rising star of the U.S. Senate; Sen. Marco Rubio.
