You really take a big risk buying next to undeveloped areas. No telling what might go in there.
I would look in areas that are fully complete (resale home). Much better deal since a new home is not negotiable in price at all. Every upgrade is extra money. Construction work going on for quite some time around you. Higher bond payment. Immature landscaping.
Look in established neighborhoods, is my opinion.
