I think this plan is dead on arrival, and I think the President knows it. This is just a political strategy to position the people to see the Republicans as defending the wealthy.
Part of this plan calls for cutting military retirement benefits and pay. Way to appreciate the people in uniform.
Equating payroll taxes with capital gains taxes is politically expedient but misleading. Why doesn't he try saying what he means.
I guess we just have to wait to see what the Republican controlled Congress says, but it's not a sure thing the Democrat Senate would vote for this.
