Default It's not complicated...

The President is looking for support for his jobs bill anywhere he can get it. He knows history and the power of public demonstrations in the past.
To date, Congress has not been influenced by record-level disapproval surveys, media tongue-lashing, or economic disintegration.
In the 60's, public demonstrations more than any other factor brought about monumental civil rights legislation. After that, an unyielding President and deadlocked Congress looked out at the thousands on the Mall and finally moved toward ending the Vietnam war.
There is nothing wrong with talking to "y'all'. It's a quick and clear reference to the record numbers of unemployed and poverty-bound.
I submit the majority of Congressmen either don't REALLY understand the current problem or future ramifications of that, or don't REALLY care. They need to SEE it, like their 60's predecessors.
I believe large public demonstrations would help break the logjam in Congress. Change is the only thing the poverty-bound have to look forward to. A case can be made that it is the Chief Executive's duty to remind them to believe that they can affect change if they get out of their bedroom slippers.
