Deterrent....until they have moved on,
otherwise the "mud-daubers" will rebuild...... in the same spot. Not all the daubers are building the hut at the time you remove it. When they later return to an "intact" hut coated with DAWN.......well.....lets just say ....ALL insects HATE the stuff.
