One of the major problems with deed restrictions is the fact that if they 'let something go'...suddenly they have set a precedent and therefore EVERYONE is entitled to do the same thing. If the offense is not dealt with it causes way more problems. Personally, I am glad that the restrictions are enforced, it makes decisions so much easier. We have had cases here in Michigan (and I'm sure elsewhere)...subdivisions that don't allow fences...somehow one person managed to get a fence up without anyone complaining (usually by putting up an above ground pool that requires fencing...then removing the pool)...now the next person says "they have a fence...so can I" and there goes the restriction. Kinda sounds like fourth grade, doesn't it? but unfortunately, that's the way the law is interpreted. Know something?? I don't care about air conditioners, fences or yard ornaments, I just want to get there!!!! Today I had to put away my sandals
