Interesting thread....
I have a Droid X (Android), after having an iPhone for a couple years. In my opinion, the experience couldn't be any more different; iPhone .vs. Android.
I'll say this first.... I own an Apple Mac Book Pro and an iPad...love them both; they just work! By the way, so did the iPhone and I only sold it because it was my phone in Germany. I didn't want AT&T and couldn't wait for the iPhone on Verizon last year, so got the Droid X...
Probably the biggest difference is that when you have a problem with an Android device, you have to go back to the cell phone store. Generally speaking, they only know how to "reset to factory settings" or replace the phone. First though, they will make sure anything wrong with the phone is your fault and that you don't know what you're doing. Versus, if you have a problem with an Apple device [any Apple device], you only have to go to an Apple store to get help; always friendly and helpful. When you lave the Apple Store, you issue will be resolved...period.
In the meantime, I've begun to like the fact that I can no longer take a photo with my Android phone....or a movie ....or that it reboots itself for no apparent reason...or that every time they update the Android software it screws up something else.
One more year on my contract and then it's iPhone; no matter the number designation..iPhone 4s, iPhone 5 or whatever.
Sorry for the rant...
