Default warning: verizon wireless privacy guidelines

just got this news from my neice's husband; am guessing it applies to folks who use their phone to access the internet besides just phone calls:
"
F.Y.I..**For all who have VZ Wireless as a service provider!!!…Verizon announced Friday that they are going to make changes re: YOUR Privacy Policy. This means if you don’t opt out, VZ intends on using consumer data from your phone to place targeted advertisements online. This will provide advertisers with our personal records of aggregated website visits, cell phone usage loca...tions, demographics information and interests..This system used consumer addresses to determine whether a consumer resides in a local area an advertiser is trying to reach. I am sure there is some kick-back to VZ from the advertisers for this info..If you always read all the crap on the last page of your bill, not me, it does state that there are ‘Revisions to Customer Agreement’..So if you wanna opt out, go to www.verizonwireless.com and log into your account. On the right hand side of the page it states “Great new ways to manage your privacy”..click on please read… Scroll down to “Customer Proprietary Network Information Settings” and check “Don't Share My CPNI” and click SAVE and OK…then go to the “Business & Marketing Reports” and check “Don't use my information for aggregate reports”, SAVE again and OK, and finally go to “Relevant Mobile Advertising” and click “Don't use my demo-graphic info for banners” and save again…you can chose for all cell phone numbers on your account…Hope this helps..."
