I just went through evaluation. Every Tuesday of the year except for three weeks at the end of August and early September they hold the evaulations. I know because I had to wait after first attending in early August.

It's held at Buffalo Glen, that's the 4 ball fields near TV High School off of 466 and you can reach by cart via Belvedere. Go any three Tuesdays within a one year period, you need to be there at 7:30 and it usually ends about 10:00. Most people do all three in a row, makes it easier.

In my situation we had about 20 at each tryout. Since the current season started September 8th and I finished after that, I was made a sub (substitute). However, since most teams have a hard time keeping 12 players at every game, as soon as I finished and turned in my paper work I had 3 coaches calling me to play permanently on their team.

You can play in the recreation (rec) leagues and play two days a week, or the neighborhood leagues and play only on Saturdays. There is some other differnces such as the bats used and the different levels, but they'll explain all that when you attend the evaluations.

I chose to just play in the neighborhood league and was picked up by Calumet Grove team even though I live in Tamarind Grove. I want to play golf two days a week and with softball I thought one day was enough. You can even play in both leagues if you like, that's three days a week. In Tamarind Grove we now have a coach and he is putting together a team for next season in January, but in the meantime I play for Calument.
