Also interested to know what machines you tried that didn't work and what the difference is in the one you feel is working. Why didn't the other ones work and the one you have now does?
In case you can't tell from my questions, count me interested but skeptical.
Thanks much!

The machine works according to how you use it!
Q. Where did Whole Body Vibration come from?
Versions of Whole Body Vibration have been around for over one hundred years, however the modern version was developed by the Russians in the 1970's to combat the problems of bone and muscle wasting in their cosmonauts as a result of spending time in zero gravity. The rapidly accelerating platform creates a form of hyper gravity that stimulates the muscles to work faster and challenges the body to work harder. The result is a more effective and efficient physical training program.
Impressed by the speed with which the cosmonauts regained their strength, Russian athletics trainers saw the potential for their athletes and used Whole Body Vibration to gain a competitive strength advantage over those outside the Eastern Bloc.
Upon the fall of the Berlin Wall the West became aware of Whole Body Vibration and a German company first commercialised its production. Since that time Whole Body Vibration has been used by elite sports clubs, world class athletes, hospitals, gyms and physiotherapy centres.
This is the site I got it from.

Many of our gyms have them and even offer workouts on them.
I was at a show once where they were selling them. I stopped to tell the people how much I enjoyed them. There were two older ladies there who said that while they didn't own one they had access to one and they were able to take some sort of medication they had to take if they got on it every day. Neither I nor my husband can remember what meds it was so I'm afraid I can't say... I remember I was impressed.
There was another gentleman there who came over just to stretch on it. He said he had chronic back pain and the machine relieved the pain.
As to the other machines I had... it's not that they didn't work. The first one I had was VERY cheap and I wore it out. The second one was nice but would only work for one minute at a time. It had weights with it and workouts. I wanted something that would go for at least 10 minutes and had varying speeds. The next one I bought did that but ran rough! It didn't feel nice.
The last one I bought I bought from a show. It was smooth, ran for 10 minutes with three pre programs. I try to get on it as often a possible.
I do the firm workout and run on the treadmill. I use the Whole body Vibration machine because it makes me feel good. You would have to get on one for awhile to understand what I am saying.
Try some out and see what you think! It just makes you fell SOOOOOO good! Brings your spirits up!
Sometimes I might so push ups on it, sometimes I stretch, sometimes I use weights..... But for me... I feel good!
