Did you forget the ethical violations that cost him a fortune, or should I say, cost Dole a fortune since he paid them for the Newtie? Maybe he got paid back. The congress rarely imposes such huge fines...but they did for the Newt. The Newt resigned because he knew it was going to come out that his behavior (he was having an affair) was just as bad as Clintons when the impeachment hearings started.
