I like rational; but politics is mostly psychological, and that makes it personal. And when it gets personal, it gets,...well, personal. People don't like their beliefs questioned and they get defensive when their beliefs are questioned. It brings out the worst in people. Health care debate and debt limit debates are pretty good examples of what can happen. And that goes both ways: liberal or conservative, right or left.

That seems to me what has happened here and things got out of control. Just my humble opinion.

yarnspinner,
I agree with what you say here but this is not personal in politics this was meant to be just personal and that is where I think it went off the rail.
Do you think that this kind of direct attack is OK?
This was not "beliefs" being questioned!

You opine vague justice, your own sense of socio-economic policy,
and the tiny world of partisanship in which you live. This is your only soap box and you take it seriously. No room is left for thmajority who are morecalm and moderate with regard to the world and world
justice, for the many who may still believe in "hope" and "change". Anyone who has to look up (probably on Wikepedia) Hillary Clinton,
needs to find either a wet nurse, or another planet on which to take up space. Why I even lower myself to respond in this forum is entirely insane
to me, bahhaa, bahhaa, bahhaa, damn you got my goat this time.
Not me.
