We moved here 8 years ago (will be come Feb.). Until now, this is the first I have heard of anyone being ticketed for something that has been going on for that long. I am only questioning why the sudden enforcement now? Did they get complaints from the tee-totalers or something?
It seems from what I'm reading here, lots of people feel that they have been blindsided....it was ok yesterday, but oops, not today? We don't go to the squares that often and when we do we don't go to sit in the cart and drink or anything else. We drive there, get out, and get in again to come home so getting "caught" is not an issue for us. For the most part, we choose not to drink there because it's too expensive....lot cheaper at home. Have we had a drink there? Yes, but not often and certainly not many.

I think if it is "out of the blue" enforcement, then it is a legitimate concern, BUT, we don't know if this is a recent development or not:
1. Not everybody who lives in TV is on TOTV, so we might not hear about other instances of enforcement that have occured in the past. There might be lots of others out there who have been ticketed over the years but we just haven't heard about it. This could certainly make it
seem like "out of the blue" enforcement.
2. There is not really a heavy police presence in the squares, the few officers they have are spread pretty thin, so I imagine that drinking while seated in the carts has gone on for a while without the few officers that are around seeing it. Once they do, they write the tickets. This also could certainly make it
seem like "out of the blue" enforcement.
