Yes, this is the process to get the Comcast remote to work with your TV.
I believe the OP was trying to get their TV/Universal remote to talk to the DTA box...that's where the difficulty arises. The Comcast remote is very barebones whereas the universal/ original TV remote has lots of extra features like audio controls, picture width, input selector,etc. I would rather use my original TV remote to control the DTA, but, not happening.
