No problem with this, but these people do not always know or understand the rules, conventions, and etiquette.

I have thought that an "Introduction to the Golf Course" course should be required before golfers receive their PGA cards (Play Golf Acceptably)!!!

This is what I was thinking when I read the post. I have been told that many of the people here have never golfed before. Since I've never seen this on our courses in the midwest, I think maybe people just don't understand it. Maybe to pass a handout to new golfers so they can learn the ways of the course.

Of course of me it's never a problem as I never hit in the sand... I have "water" balls!
