The Villages offers a "good golf" course that not only goes over how to make tee time reservations but also covers some basic golf etiquette. Even for experienced golfers, there is info to be learned. For instance, here in The Villages it is the norm to leave rakes in the bunkers at a 90 degree angle. This may be different from other clubs where people have played. When I play with beginners or more experienced golfers that haven't taken the time to learn respect for the game, I will remind them in the friendliest manner possible of golf etiquette such as raking bunkers, not stepping on another golfers line on the green, repairing ball marks, filling divots with sand (here in Florida we don't replace the divot like we did up north), and not injuring the green by throwing the flag down. I also hate to see golfers entering and leaving some of our steep bunkers from the high side. It looks like they are mountain climbing and wind up injuring the lip of the bunker. The good news is that I really don't see these behaviors that often.
