The land north of 466 where the Morses and SEVERAL OTHER PROPERTY OWNERS live is not part of The Villages and never has been. Private owners of land can do whatever they wish with it, including sell it, as long as they are within the limits of its zoning and setbacks. Anyone who buys a house within The Villages (or any other development) that backs up onto land that is privately owned needs to assume that something may change in the future.
The Preserves within The Villages are clearly marked as such with small white signs along the black board fences ("Nature Preserve, No trespassing, pets, hunting, etc., etc.). If you have a black board fence behind your property that does not have these signs, you are not on a Preserve and cannot expect any future protection of the land by The Villages.
At least the properties in the parcel north of 466 are zoned Agricultural. Down in the newer areas, near 466A, people are buying houses that back up to farms and raving about their wonderful views, feed ing the horses and so forth. Much of that land is zoned Commercial and the owners are just waiting for a chance to capitalize on the growth of The Villages.
