Don't rip the bandaid off in one motion!!!
Not sure what your circumstances are but we found that a gradual move to TV worked for us. (so far) Its a pattern I find with a lot of TV'ers.
11 years in Florida; coincided with birth of 1st grandchild - up there!
Started coming for a month in winter then Jan.1 to April, then Nov. 1 thru May, then thru June. Seemed every year we got back north to awful weather, so kept extending.
Our youngest grandchild there is 4, and will be going to school soon. Found that as they get older you get to see them less and less when you are there.... the pre-teens get very busy.
We still are vigorous enough for a drive or two north during each season for little league, communions, birthdays, etc. Stay a week or two. Those trips combined with their vacations here give us plenty of face time.
In the beginnging we missed being there, now we miss being here!!!
Another 2-4 years we plan on being year round and sell the house there.
