Soon after we purchased our home in Pennecamp, I called SECO and had the whole house surge protector installed and we were paying the ~$5 per month. Well, we moved to a different house in St. James in September and I called and had them install one here too. We just got our final bill for Pennecamp house and there is a $23.80 charge on the bill. I called to ask what this was all about. They advised that when I had the SP installed that I agreed to a 1 year contract. I don't remember any such agreement, but that's not all I don't remember these days. Anyhow, it makes no difference to them that we have a SP installed on our new house. We still have to pay for the old house until March 2012. They won't tell me if the new owners have agred to keep the SP or not. I think I'll ride by and see if it's still on there.
Has anyone else run into this?

We contacted SECO approximately 3 weeks ago and requested to have a surge protector installed and was quoted a monthly fee of $5.95 for 1-year contract, there after it's up to us if we choose to keep it or not, if we choose to keep it installed we will continue paying a monthly rental fee, however after 1 year we are no longer under contract, no doubt the fee will go up after the year is up.
