We all have to run our households based on revenues and select amounts of credit. None of us have the ability/the right/the capability to continually spend while continually increasing spending beyond our revenues.
In Washington it is a different story. There is no business acumen in existence. There are far too many lawyers and far too many millionaires in office. There is no concept of accountability to a budget. It is not their money they are spending. They do not operate to the laws and rules we the people must adhere to. None have ever had a real job or run a business.
Complete lack of leadership.
Is it any wonder that the better people in the USA do not want to join such a club?

You are right on all counts. It is my guess that most public servants get into the game for altruistic reasons, but are ultimately corrupted by politics and the system.
