I would guess that it's cheap products to control cost and maximize profits. I have a problem with one of our windows with a film buildup between panes where a film is building up. The service guy, from the window co. that made the installation, came yesterday and informed me that there's a leak in the seal. Gonna cost me around $120 something to have just one pane replaced.

The buildup was there long before I purchased the home. Too bad the previous owner couldn't have bothered while it was still under warantee! I have a feeling it was covered while they still owned the home from questions I was asked by the WC.

Also the only way to get to the outside of the window to clean them is to actually go outside and remove the screen. They can only be removed from the outside and not the inside. Whatever happened to the swing in easy clean windows that have been out there for a whole lot of years? In my opinion they're cheaply made!
