Welcome to TOTV -- this is the place to visit if you have questions about moving to and living in The Villages (TV).

Suggestions - you could call the The Villages sales office and ask for a Lifestyle Preview Visit -- I believe they last from 4? to 10? days -- but someone please correct me on that. I'm not sure what the charge is for the Lifestyle Preview Visits in the summer.

If you want to rent a home for a week(s) or month(s) in the summer from a private owner in TV, check out www.thevillages4rent.com or the classified ad section, furnished homes for rent of www.thevillagesdailysun.com. Summertime rates in TV are quite a bit lower than rates from January through April.

I rented twice in TV in 2011 from private owners -- once in July in the Village of Chatham near Nancy Lopez and once in October in the Village of Sabal Chase just south of Lake Sumter Landing. I hope to rent again this summer, but not sure which village yet.

If you are thinking about being a full-time TV resident, I think it is a good idea to rent in the summer to see if you like the Florida summertime climate (the humidity is usually pretty high). It was fine for me, but does take a little getting used to.

Good luck finding a summertime rental. You should have plenty of time, especially if you starting looking in January/February.
