The Developer's company is the landlord for the leased properties. It is standard business practice for a business landlord to take in a certain percent of receipts.
I was talking to the owner of City Fire restaurant and he said the Developer is the 2nd best landlord he has had in 40+ years of business and lots of different landlords. That sounds like a pretty good recommendation to me.

Absolutely correct buggy; it's much like the "mall fees" that the stores pay the developer of shopping malls because of it's prime business location
