Why the heck would someone want to shoot these beautiful creatures. I had 2 on my front lawn last week...and all I shot them with was my camera. I was thrilled.

Don't know about KY...but in Wisconsin (where there is a Sandhill Foundation) the farmers HATE the critters!! They make a mess out of the fields (both in excrement and the digging they do) and they're protected. They may look beautiful but they rank up there with geese (who also do damage in fields, parks and more...with their excrement etc.) Just another opinion here! Oh..just so you know...haven't ever been a farmer or hunter!
