My first car was a 1949 black Plymouth Deluxe. It was a 3 on the column manual and sat almost as high as a city bus! I loved (and still do) that car. The oddest thing on it was the venting system. It was a handle located under the radio area that you pushed down. A V-shaped vent located on the hood under the windshield would pop up and you had instant fresh air. To close the vent, you pushed the handle back up. My father bought it for me in 1963 and I drove it for nearly 6 years.
