As Romney has said repeatedly, and in one of the last two debates, there is a big difference between having a personal belief that abortion itself is wrong, while at the same time, the law of the land by way of the U.S. Supreme Court permits an individual person to choose abortion...or NOT choose it.
Just like you and all other pro-life advocates: it's abhorrent to you, and you have a legal right to choose NOT to have one.
If and until Roe v. Wade is finally overturned,
personal, independent convictions and decisions are what will prevail.....and hopefully more and more people will be convinced that the birth of a baby is
not the worst thing that could possibly happen to a person!
I'd venture to say that fewer people will come to an anti-legal-abortion position and adapt it for themselves, as long as pro-life advocates call them "murderers" and "criminals" in the meantime while they are deciding within the law of the land.
People tend to tune out when stereotyped and called hideous names while knowing they themselves personally would NEVER have an abortion.
Once again, extremism and stereotyping are
not what most thinking people listen to.
