Contractors failure to meet completion commitments
I contracted with Precision Aluminum to install acrylic windows and sceens on 11/15/11. Plan was to put the screens in before Christmas which they did and complete the job on 1/5/12. When they didn't show up on 1/5/12 I called to confirm if they were going to install the windows. They said, that there was a problem with the window vendor. He refused to build them with an 18" high separator bar and that 56" was the largest opening allowed by code. We agreed on the 32" separator bar height that was requested. PA never called to advise us of this problem prior to my call to them on 1/5/12. PA promised to expedite completion of the windows and install them on 1/12/12. From that point until now I have been given multiple excuses and promises. I initiate all the calls and very seldom get to talk to anybody. Currently, they don't answer their phone probably due to caller ID and I'm concerned If I'll ever get these windows installed. What are my legal options to get this work done or terminate this contract. The windows are supposedly complete per PA. I have a chronogical history of events leading up to this situation.
