I played golf today at Glenview and we must be near a full moon as the group had two issues.
- I showed up to check in, parked the cart in front of the pro shop and did the old 'pat the back pocket’ to check the wallet and all I felt was ***
. No wallet, no ID. First time for me, so I was not positive how they would handle. I walked into the pro shop practicing full grovel, when I see my favorite manager Steve (yes I am still sucking up in case Steve reads TOTV). I took the ribbing I deserved like a pro and in some time Steve acknowledged he did know me and they let me play. In case this ever happens to you, I have been told, no need to rush home, most places will let you pay FULL price, then return with your ID after the round and they will credit you the difference.
- So here I am feeling pretty silly when the fourth in our group shows up. He comes from Calumet, so he comes in by the driving range. He says hello to us, he and his partner agree that he will drive and he goes off to check in at pro shop. Upon his return, as his partner is loading up his stuff onto the cart, his partner asks him “where are your clubs”

They were in his garage! He had to go back into the pro shop and rent some.
I can only imagine what the staff was thinking about this foursome….
Anyone got any “I forgot my….” stories better than those?
