Sorry, when I'm eating alone, I'm reading and eating. I still eat at a reasonable rate. And, had I not been asked to leave, I would have been done in about 15 minutes from getting my food. As it was, I sat there for well over an hour.
As was said, what could I possibly gain by relating this story? I don't stir up trouble but I don't back down from it, either.

Did the manager know you? Since you were a regular and stopped in there between jobs, I just wonder if perhaps it was someone you knew and they felt like they could be honest and say to you, 'Hey, we are busy. Could you eat more and read less? I need that booth.'
You know what I mean?
I'm not excusing someone being rude, just trying to get inside the head of a manager who would seemingly, intentional ruin a business. I can see where people who don't know you would think it is an unbelievable story. It is unbelievable that the manager of Cane Gardens would say anything along those lines to a customer.
