Default Indoor Tick Problem

Hi TV folks,

My mom lives in TV (Lake Sumter area) and has a dog that ended up bringing ticks into the house.

The dog has been treated (tick bath, Advantix), and the house has been treated several times now, but these things are still showing up. It's maddening to her, of course, as no one wants ticks in their house.

She's used two pest control services now. The current service provider's people seem competent and all, but this is now a chronic problem. No, I'm not talking about "hundreds" of ticks...but every so often now she'll find two or three living ones, which means there's more there.

The place has been cleaned from top to bottom (all linens, curtains, etc., washed in hot water several times and vacuuming galore!)

Questions: Has anyone on the forum here dealt with this problem, and if so, what did you end up doing to remedy it? Are ticks a big problem in TV?

Thanks for any help, as she's at her wits end on getting this thing dealt with once and for all.

Note: The current pest control service has come a few times now -- once to start the process and once to "break the life cycle". They were just there again after my Mom found a few more living ticks on the carpet (again, a few...not an infestation!).
