Unfortunately from a "performance" aspect we have come to expect little from our government. Part of the problem is that government doesn't approach a problem the same as they do in private industry. Secondly they are not invested because they are not using their money, can't be fired for poor performance and do not include in their equation "profit."

Essentially this is why we should have less government involvement,etc.
The country could make great advances with the elimination of the Depts of Education, Energy, EPA Fannie/Freddie and several sub depts that long ago ended their reason for existing. I also include the Fed because the Fed has gone beyond what it was designed to do.
