Of the many homes we've rented, none had a garage screen, but we've looked at a gazillion online over the past five year, and once we are there (this year we hope), I'd opt for the retractable. Never saw a sliding screen in person, but it appears you always have about four feet of your garage opening blocked by the screen when you slide it open. IMHO it looks like you slide it one way to get the golf cart out, and the other way to get the car out. With the retractable, you can get both out at the same time.

I do like the idea of ventilation in the summer, and being able to open the garage door to the house and the door to the lanai to get a breeze through the house in spring and fall.

Would love some comments from some folks who have the sliding garage screen.
