The problem is that today's militant, in-your-face homosexuals want to replace the millenia-old institution of civil marriage with something that it is not.

It's like replacing the U.S. Constitution with something written by some Hollywood celebrities like Rosie O'Donnell, Sean Penn and Michael Moore.

Many conservatives like Gingrich and Romney have clearly stated (last debate) that a separate legal status such as "Domestic Partnership" would be workable to provide gays with many of the rights they seek and that traditional marriage provides.

But that's not good enough for those who seek to replace what our forefathers put into place as the foundation for an enduring society and nation.
