Personally, I think that a "civil union" with all the same legal protections of a marriage is good for gay and lesbian couples.

It should not offend anyone to have a civil union. If they can find a church minister to do a ceremony, that is fine with me, too. Still, it is a binding contract just as if a man and woman got married.

No need to make this a constitutional amendment.
