You would think that people living in Afghanistan as soldiers would get how religious this country is. That just seems stupid to provoke violence like this by burning what is seen in that region as a Holy Book. There really is not an equivalent in the West to just how religious this society is.

Maybe, if you go back to the various wars of the Protestant Reformation you would get at the mindset of the people involved. Or, maybe the control the Puritans had of some of the English colonies in the 1600s in North America. http://www.usq.edu.au/artsworx/schoo...ible/earlylife
