Speaking as an ex-Catholic, with regards ot the 'confession' question earlier, I'd be hard pressed to figure out exactly which of the Ten Commandments I would be confessing to have broken.
I mean, so many are broken in the normal course of life for most people - taking the Lord's name in vain, not keeping the sabbath holy, coveting your neighbor's goods, etc. But I can't find one covering "going against Papal doctrine concerning brith control".
I thought about 'bearing false witness', but you're not necessarily lying to anyone about it - especially if you don't mention it at all. Stretching it even further, if you did a self-imposed ban on receiving the eucharist because of a feeling that you were not a "Catholic in Good Standing" (for going against the Pope), that's still not something that you can attribute to a Commandment.
