I actually had a good experience in MI years ago.
In 1988 I traded my 1987 Sedan Deville for a 1988 Pontiac Bonneville SSE.
While driving to the dealer with a For Sale sign in the window I got a call about the car. I told the caller the car was great (too old man for a 34 yr. old) but had already made a deal with the dealer.
When I got to the dealer he told me to call the guy back and we would split the difference of 2K I was getting from him and the price I had been asking.
The caller purchased the car for my asking price in the window and the dealer cut me a check for 1K.
That was 1 of my last "American" cars until 2011 and this one will prob. be my last.
