By the time the Villages' St. Patrick's Day parade passes by
Before the parade passes by,
I am going to see belly dancing.
Before it goes on, and only I'm left,
I am going to see cheerleaders prancing.
Before the parade passes by,
I am going to see golf carts lancing.
By the time the parade ends,
There will be clowns doing the bends.
By the time the parade winds down,
There will be a beauty pageant winner
with an astounding gown.
By the time the parade reaches the finish line,
The Sumter County cops will have given some a drinking fine.
By the time the parade reaches the finish line,
More than 5000 will have made plans for where to dine.
As the crowd throws out the green beads,
The Villages Property Management will have signed dozens of deeds.
As the crowd pours water to cool off,
The Morse family will be watching the parade from the Landing Loft.
As the crowd finds ways to stay in the shade,
Some sure sweet deals will have been made.
When the last parade walker nears the last barrier,
The Stilt Walkers will need a carrier.
When the last parade walker nears the last barrier,
Many a St. Patrick's Day parade watcher will be so much merrier.
When the last parade walker nears the last barrier man,
Some of us may need our last ferryman.
Modifying "Before the parade passes by" from Hello, Dolly.
