Bucco: How would you characterize a political candidate who held the following views?

- Didn't know why North and South Korea were separate countries.
- Thought that the head of the U.K. government was the Queen and not the prime Minister.
- Could not name a single newspaper or magazine she'd read after railing about their criticism of her.
- Didn't know the basics behind Paul Revere's ride - and when informed that he only spoke to the British at gunpoint after being captured, doubled-down insisting that her version was the truth.
- Didn't know that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were private corporations.
- Said her state (Alaska) produced 20% of US energy when, in fact, it produces 3.5%
- Quoted Westbrook Pegler in her speech at the GOP convention. Pegler was an avowed racist and anti-Semite who wrote of his hopes of RFK being assasinated. Kind of like her own Bill Ayers.
- Thought that Iraq planned and executed 9/11.

I try very hard not to descend into nastiness when discussing Palin, but I certainly understand the frustrations of others. And, to be honest, I don't think it would have been so much of an issue if it weren't for all the questions surrounding McCain's health.

Remember, McCain's medical records were treated the way Obama's college records are. A few journalists were allowed to see the 3-inch-thick folders for something like 15 minutes. They weren't allowed to have any recording devices and had to give all the materials back at the end of the session. Right, wrong or indifferent, it certainly gave the impression that they were trying to cover something up.
