On February 25th, George Zimmerman killed Trayton Martin. The circumstances surrounding the incident are sill unclear; however it is factual that George Zimmerman’s weapon was licensed and he had a permit to carry it.

Over St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Chicago, ten people were killed and an additional thirty-nine injured in shootings in Chicago. None of the people involved had licensed guns and certainly none of them had permits to carry guns. The circumstances surrounding these killings are clear – gang violence with intent to kill using unlicensed weapons.

In the case of Trayvon Martin, we see massive demonstrations, calls to eliminate the rights of law-abiding citizens to possess firearm, the involvement of the US Dept. of Justice and statements by the President. In the case of the multiple murders in Chicago there was none of this. The only thing that happened was that the First Lady went on the Letterman Show and said she wants to instill the values of south Chicago in her two children. Amazing.
