I used to be affiliated with a group called The Happy Horse Rescue Farm located in Summerfield. Our volunteers at the time (just prior to Thanksgiving 2011), held an open house and had the Daily Sun come out for a photo shoot. Unfortunately, some of the volunteers were getting hurt and the volunteers were asked not to come back! It was a sad day indeed as I really miss the horses.

The farm really wasn't a rescue as the horses were never adopted out. We were told that this was a rescue and we bought into this and raised lots of money for them.
Since then, most of the group of volunteers have donated their time to Camp Wildwood (Girl Scout Camp) located just off of route 301. I believe they have 42+ horses and about 500 acres of land. Really a first-rate operation. As you can tell, I didn't follow this group of volunteers but keep up with their activities.
