ilovetv: No, I haven't forgotten. That's why I ignored some of the spiking stats right after 9/11. The math of starting two wars (one justified), huge tax cuts and the Prescription Drug plan just don't add up. It's also why I didn't mention the abomination known as the "USA PATRIOT Act" because that was passed with a very compliant Congress.
Cmann: Well, let's see, we gave Reagan 8 years. Conservatives gave Obama far less. Does anyone know offhand when Palin made the "How's that hopey-changey thing working for you?" speech?
Reagan inherited a mess. Obama inherited an unmitigated disaster that almost sent us into a depression.
Reagan made deals to get what he wanted. Obama tried and almost got there a couple of times with Boehner, but the Tea Party freshman put the kibosh on those.
Reagan supported tax hikes, amnesty for illegals and a whole host of things that today's conservative finds repulsive.
And although I've done it elsewhere, I wasn't doing a 'blame Bush' bit. I was responding to the statement that Bush didn't spend time "blaming Clinton". True - because there wasn't much to blame him for.
