We have just gotten approval for our villa neighborhood to be done. (those who desire it) In the courtyard villas, on the driveways, we are limited to what we can do, decoratively. For example, no pavers, no fancy borders or medallions.

I remember that earlier you wondered why anyone would want to do such a thing....

I am told that the concrete comes to the building site in a mixer. TV does not make their own. I suspect that the water used in our mix was non-potable and had a high amount of minerals, organics of some kind in the batch that we got.

After the concrete dried, what showed up is what I can only call "mineral blush".... dark, mildewed looking patches that are permanent. Some of our driveways have very little or none, others have very large, obvious patches. One driveway is particularly awful looking.

Since the driveways are sound, TV will not replace them for being mottled in color.
TV (and others) have tried numerous products, but the discolorations are inherent in the concrete.

So that's why a number of us are going to have them painted/stained with a high pigment product.... for camouflage.
I didn't mean it quite like that. Sometimes I must sound so mean. I am sorry if it did. I see a lot of driveways, some I like better than others and some I would just as soon have kept plain.

I still haven't quite got into the painted driveway thingy... but I am kinda teetering. Applesof's sounds so pretty, with a palm in the middle.
