What I suggest is asking the vet what they sell it for and tell them what you see it for online, can they match or come close the price.
Now if you don't support the local vets and they aren't in biz at 3AM when your dog is in trouble, then you can support the local crematory.

Not very responsive and rather cold-hearted, but thanks anyway.
My vet's secretary I talked to this morning said that their policy was that online pet pill providers would send a fax to the local vet's office who would then sign the fax and send it. I suppose a fee in this would be reasonable. Faxes do cost some money.
The other option was that a local pharmacist could fill the order after getting the vet's OK. In that situation, I do not really see a fee as being all that reasonable. The secretary would be basically just looking up my dog's record in the computer.
